The CatNap Academy Mission
We exist to help cat parents in the United States build happier homes for their cats — and saner lives for themselves.
That means:
- Practical, beginner-friendly cat care guides you can actually use
- Honest product reviews based on real testing, not affiliate hype
- Clear, no-nonsense lessons on cat behavior, nutrition, and lifestyle
- A genuine respect for veterinary expertise — we always defer to professionals on anything medical
We’re not a vet clinic. We’re not a magazine. We’re a small, friendly, cat-loving corner of the internet built around one belief: cat parents deserve better information, told the way a friend would tell it.
Who’s Behind This Site?
CatNap Academy is run by one person. That’s me. I’m not a veterinarian, and I’ll never pretend to be one. I’m a lifelong animal lover, a multi-cat owner, and someone who spent the past several years deep-diving into everything I could find about feline behavior, nutrition, and care.
I’ve raised kittens from bottle-feeding age. I’ve supported a senior cat through her final years. I’ve cleaned more litter boxes than I care to count and tested more cat products than my apartment really has room for. Every guide on this site reflects that real, hands-on experience.
For anything outside my lane — diagnosing illness, recommending medications, prescribing treatments — I send people straight to their vet. Always. Your vet knows your cat. The internet does not.
How CatNap Academy Earns Money (And Why It Matters)
Honesty time. CatNap Academy earns money in two ways:
1. Affiliate links. When you buy a product through a link on this site (like from Amazon or Chewy), we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That’s how we keep the lights on and keep all our content free.
2. Display ads. Some pages on this site have ads. We choose ad networks that respect your privacy and keep the experience clean.
That’s it. We don’t accept paid sponsorships in exchange for positive reviews. We don’t take “gifts” from brands in return for coverage. If we recommend a product, it’s because we’ve genuinely tested it or researched it deeply — and we’d recommend it to a friend.

What You Won’t Find Here
To be crystal clear about what CatNap Academy is not:
- We don’t give medical advice. Ever. We’re not vets.
- We don’t diagnose illnesses. That’s your vet’s job.
- We don’t recommend medications or treatments. Same reason.
- We don’t accept paid placements for our reviews. Period.
- We don’t write fake “experience” content. If we say we tested something, we tested it.
Our Editorial Standards
Every piece of content on CatNap Academy goes through a careful process before publishing. We research our topics using reputable sources — veterinary publications, established animal welfare organizations like the ASPCA and American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and academic resources like the Cornell Feline Health Center.
When we write about wellness or behavior topics, we cite our sources. When we share personal experience, we make it clear that’s what it is. When we don’t know something, we say so.
You can read more about our process on our [Editorial Policy page] and [Review Process page].
How to Reach Me

Thanks for Being Here
Building CatNap Academy has been one of the most rewarding projects of my life. Every email I get from a reader who says, “Your guide helped me figure out my cat,” makes the whole thing worth it.
If this site helps you and your cat live a little better together, that’s the only success I care about.
Welcome to the Academy. Glad to have you.
